Got monitor freezes today when I got to the bios. Have had this the last few days, when I have turned the power to the PSU off and on it has solved my problem, but it did not work today.

Now, after many computer restarts when I've changed the computer monitor, video card, taken out and in my 4 RAM memories, and reset the CMOS, I have now no display at all.

The light on the screen is normally green when the computer is running, now it's yellow / orange. If I take out the cord connecting the monitor and computer, I get "Cable not connected" message on the screen.

If I take out all my 4 RAM memories completely there isn't any difference. The computer is still on, fans are running but no display. Usually this (no RAM) makes the computer do constant restarts, but not in my case.

I have only the power cable and monitor cable inserted into the computer so there's nothing "disturbing" the computer.

I'm getting no beep errors when I start my computer either.

Have lot of files I need to reach on this computer today so quick help is really appreciated! :)

Thanks in advance!

whats the name of the psu that you have installed ?

You don't want to take all the RAM out... try it with just one stick, and try each of the 4 to see if you perhaps have a bad one.

It sounds like something to do with your GPU though, make sure it is seated properly in the PCI slot, and that you have the necessary power cables connected securely. If you have a different GPU, try that, otherwise you might need to RMA something.

What parts are you using, just for reference?

What did you mean with "RMA something"?

rma means return merchandise authorization .. simple means you will have to bring back the parts

I've had my psu for maybe 2 years or so.

I just find it weird that it worked from fine (half week ago), to freezes sometimes at bios when booting (half week ago to yesterday), to always freeze on bios (today morning) and then now to not even show display

I would wager it's either the power supply or motherboard. See if you can try a different PSU in your computer, so you can narrow it down.

it is not definitely the psu ,im just trying to cover all possiblecauses.. have you tried another psu on the system since ?
have you tried the ram on other systems either ?

Doubt it's the power supply, most likely the mobo. I don't have another PSU nor mobo to test with tho :/

Nope but as my computer currently runs fine with no RAM whatsoever, it seems like the computer never even gets to that stage, so I doubt it's the RAM

I might just turn the computer in to specialists but that costs $100 in my place :/

i trust your judgement with the psu but i still say its a possibility ..its most like ly a dead board based on the mentioned .. i think you should think about a replacement for the board.. if the specialist is tha expensive then just get the replacement

Alright this is weird... The computer is running (still without display) without the CMOS battery... o_o

This is like 99% a motherboard issue then, right? lol

as far as i can tell yes ..replace the motherboard as this points to it and not the gpu or the psu or ram ..
