My i5 4670k at stock clocks seems to be hitting 70c-82c while gaming at 5760x1080 on bf4 , I am using a gtx 770 2gb to run the three monitors and think this could be the problem , I am also using a corsair h100i to cool the cpu , the two stock h100i fans on it are at 1600 RPM.

I am worried that the the cpu shouldn't be hitting that high.

At idle the cpu is at 30c-44c.

Note: this is with the side panel off. and I also know that it isn't ideal to run that kind of res on a 2gb card.

so what im saying is , is it safe to carry on playing and not worry about it ? and is it because of my 2gb card/vram ?

Pc specs are:

CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core
CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i 77.0 CFM Liquid
Motherboard :Gigabyte G1.Sniper Z87 ATX LGA1150
Memory: Corsair Vengeance Pro 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600
Storage: Crucial M500 120GB 2.5" SSD
Western Digital Caviar Green 500GB 3.5" 5400RPM
Video Card: Palit GeForce GTX 770 2GB
Case: Cooler Master Storm Stryker (White) ATX Full Tower
Power Supply: EVGA 650W ATX12V / EPS12V
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (OEM) (64-bit)

This resolution is extremely high I would recommend you to just use 1 screen for BF4 and set the resolution to 1920x1080p. Three monitors i s alot for that graphics card and you'll need 2 cards to properly run the 2 monitors and 1 to play the games on.

That doesn't explain CPU temps that high with that good a cooler though.

Have you tried reseating the cooler?

I haven't tried that yet.

The large resolution shouldn't be affected your CPU temperatures. You need to make sure the pump on your H100i is working correctly. Make sure that in your bios you have your case fan headers working at full speed, this is what your pump is connected to and if it's not moving the water around quick enough your temperatures can get up there.

What are your temperatures with the side panel on? You should get better cooling with your case fully enclosed because it directs the cool air to the components and the hot air out of the system.

If your GPU is running hot it's possible it is affecting your CPU temps if your radiator is exhausting instead of intaking but I wouldn't imagine your temps would be as bad as you stated from that variable alone.

Ok I reseated the cooler , but couldn't put new thermal paste on as I don't have any , I then let the pc cool down and tested it again and it hit 79c.
I have ordered two new corsair fans and some arctic mx-4 thermal paste. and just hope that this helps.

everything seems to be working fine, I don't know why its hitting that high.

I would refrain from running your computer until you get new thermal paste on it? By removing the cooler the paste has become more spread out and it will create hot spots. How did you originally apply the thermal paste?

the h100i comes with thermal paste on , so I just kept that on.

Install corsair link and switch to balanced mode.

"sound like the H100i is not installed properly because the temperature is too high.

If you have non reference coolers on your GPU they might be recycling hot air in your case.

I suggest improving air flow with fans !!
