I have had an EVGA GTX 780 3GB SC with ACX cooler for about 2 and a half months now, and I have began to notice that maybe my AMD FX 6300 overclocked to 4.3 Ghz might be bottlenecking my gtx 780 when playing games at 1080p on a 60hz monitor. I have done some research on this subject and it seems that most people say that it won't bottle neck it and there are others saying that it will. I had an ASUS GTX 650 Ti 1GB before and it was great but I wanted to play games on higher settings like Watch Dogs, Goat Simulator
(Yeah I know), Skyrim, Just cause 2, and a few others. I dont have that many super demanding games for instance I dont own Far Cry 3, Crysis 3, metro 2033, or bioshock (bought that for my ps3 before I built my PC) but I plan to get them in the very near future. I bring up this bottle necking because I wonder myself if I am being bottlenecked. I really want to know if it might be because if it is should i overclock a bit more or should I get a more powerful amd cpu like a FX 8350.

Not at all. You wouldn't even really bottleneck on stock clock of 6300.

ok, but i am not saying i dont believe you, but even thought i use i my computer mainly for gaming i hear other people say that it might bottleneck it. so i dont know really what to believe. all my games run fine for me except watch dogs but that game doesnt work well on any amd product anyway.

Yes, it will. Even at that high frequency.

Modern games barely use 4 threads, so for games the FX 6300 starts to work as a FX 43x0. The FX CPUs are usually for budget gaming, when reaching high end, it's Intel core i5 territory. That's a fact. Switching to a FX-8350 would be the same story.

4 strong cores is much, much better than 8 weaker cores. So you should consider switching platform IF you want to use all the potential your GPU can give.

It works fine on my system. Specs bottom right. Trust me at 4.3 Ghz the 780 is perfectly ok.

Agree with your point of having stronger Intel cores but it won't bottleneck just because of that. 4.3Ghz is good enough for a 780.

Honestly, don't even bother asking here if it will bottleneck because half of the people here don't understand what a bottleneck is and how you actually get a bottleneck.

It will not bottleneck. But upgrading wouldn't be a bad idea. I would recommend to upgrade to intel if its in your budget but an AMD FX 8350 or 8320 will serve you well too

I FX6300 will not bottleneck a single 780, but doing sli or crossfire, that's another story.
