Hey everybody,

I have quite the issue at hand. When I started my computer this morning, i got an error: No AMD graphics driver is installed, or the AMD driver is not functioning properly. Please install the AMD driver appropriate ...

I checked device manager and the Amd Card wasn't there. Only Intel Hd 4000 was there and no standard VGA ... ,neither .

I then checked latest driver version, cleaned it and installed the new one 14.9.

Graphics card was still nowhere to be found, Catalyst Control Center won't start and games went from 60 + fps to 2-5 because of the system running it on the intel HD 4000. I'm no expert but I don't think this seems to be a switchable graphics problem.

3 Conclusions came to mind:

-Fans were very loud last week (maybe one malfunctioning) and maybe blew the card => no unusual heat though.

- Card became dislodged during transportation of Notebook

- Card simply broke down

My computer is only 1.5 years old so I really don't know what could be the problem.

i can give you a dxdiag if you'd like :)

Thanks in Advance,

Jules from Belgium

Have you shut it down and then restarted it so it can redetect the GPU?

Which model# laptop is this so we can see if the GPU is socketed or soldered to the system board.

Thank you for helping!

I have shut down the pc multiple times. It's a custom made Clevo (think p170sm) based notebook bought at

http://www.xnotebooks.nl/17-18-notebooks/titan-hw17-gam...

Specs are:

Windows 8.1 installed 64bit

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3740QM CPU@ 2.70 HGz 2.70GHz

32GB of Ram (Crucial)

AMD Radeon HD 7970m

120GB SSD

750GB Hybrid

Under Computer in device manager it says it's ACPI x64-based PC

Hope this information is of any use to you!

Kind Regards,

Jules

Update: GPU should be replacable so probably socketed!
