Hi, a few days ago i tried oc'ing my FX 8350 (Hyper 212 Evo) I did it from the bios and i also tried AMD overdrive, But no matter how hard i tried i could not get a stable overclock, I only tried light overclocks up to 4.5 and i also only increased voltages maximum to 1.480 (Maximum and once i tried that voltage not all the time) Anyway it just wouldn't stabilize so i just couldn't be bothered anymore and then i set all the settings back to stock (in the bios) (I took a pic of them stock so i did set them back correctly) Then i tried AMD overdrive same problem wouldnt stabablise, so i just set it all back to stock and uninstalled overdrive. So at this point everything is stock,

now past few days i have been experiencing some problems, like random freezing etc, just then everything froze and wallpaper went black when pc resumed. as you can see here http://gyazo.com/819190d6c08cb5d3011d777fa259e4aa

i just reset the bios by taking out the battery and then putting it back and selecting optimised defaults,

(cant be bothered overclocking again just want to stop the random freezings.)

I really don't know what to do help please, i will award a best answer etc. here are my specs
.
FX 8350, hyper 212 evo
8gb corsair vengance 1600mhz
xfx r9 280x
GA-970A-DS3P
cx600m

My board is GA-970A-DS3P (not the best i know thats why i did light overclocks, can post pics of bios on request)

First of all, that's a terrible motherboard for overclocking. Actually, there have been a slew of people with problems on that board with just the default turbo boost thanks to the extremely modest 4+1 power phase and inferior VRM heatsinks. Also, it's highly recommended to not use Overdrive ever for overclocking as it does a terrible job of it and tends to overvolt everything including the northbridge. There's been quite a few instances of permanent damage using the supposedly safe utility.

I would recommend using Display driver uninstaller to do an express removal of all AMD software and then reinstall the new 14.9 Catalyst control center driver package. There have been instances of overclock settings not being removed when Overdrive is uninstalled resulting in problems related to CPU settings normally controlled via the BIOS or UEFI settings not being reverted to pre-overdrive status.

The Display driver uninstaller will remove these fragmented settings. Reset the BIOS to default settings afterwards and then see how it does.
