So my hard drive has been doing some weird things lately, making a clicking sound very frequently, slow access times, ect. So I bought a new hard drive. What would be the easist way to bring windows onto it. Would it be easier to clone the drive, or just reinstall windows 7 on the new drive and bring over all the files from the previous one?

The 'easiest' is whatever works the best.
Given an already failing drive...just install fresh on the new drive. Any migration/cloning operation may well bring corrupted files across.

digital river has free windows 7 iso to download. if your using a windows copy and not one for a dell or hp. if you have a dell or hp they can with a set of disks or usb sticks you can make a set of restore disks.

Since your hard drive is having click of soon death noises I would not advise to clone it. Who knows what kind of data corruption you have already, and what kind will develop when you put it under the stress of cloning.

As stated you can download windows 7 from digital river.
You will then need to either use an ISO buring program like Nero, Roxio, or Ashampoo (Ashampoo burning studio is free download), or you can use WIN 7 USB DVD tool and put the file onto a bootable USB.

Could I just install W7 on the new drive, then take what I want off the old drive and then wipe it?
