I have always been a AMD pure-breed (AMD and Radeon) so i thought i would build my first Intel pure-breed build (Intel and Nvidia)... I set my budget at around $3000 (give or take a little) and made it so it must be able to play most games at 4K on highest settings. I also made it so i have to have a 4K monitor in the order.

I went a little over my budget but i can sell my old rig (i am using now) and make the money back.
Here is my current system:

How do you think it will handle? Oh, I will be installing Windows 8.1, or Windows 10.

More about : intel pure breed play

I wouldn't install Win10 as the primary/only OS on a new PC.

Other than that, not bad.

Its got Nvidia in it, so its not an "Intel Pure breed".. But.. probably pretty awesome, I still couldn't see myself spending that much on a computer though, to each their own. Screw Windows 10 and 8. 7 is still where its at.

Another thought, why 4 RAM modules? Go with 2 8GB ones, and while the value series is probably fine, why go cheap on anything if you're already spending 3 grand?

How bout a 480 GB Crucial M500 SSD? More space!

Rosewill case? *iBarf* lol

I have always viewed Nvidia as a Intel brother... Whats wrong with a Rosewill case? Its clean and nice, i plan to customize it in the future and do a custom cooling loop with the CPU and the 2 GTX's :)  Also i have money but not that much money lol

No he is right to get 4 modules, Haswell-e LGA2011 CPUs have quad-channel memory.

Windows 7 is great but it's probably time to move on unfortunately (e.g. for NVMe driver compatibility and stuff like that in case he upgrades his SSD). Hopefully windows 10 will be the next gold standard.

Well, some do I guess, but they're two completely different companies with no shared assets, AMD bought out Radeon, probably the only reason they're still afloat now.

Rosewill is just a hit and miss brand, its more or less Newegg's "house brand", I put an HTPC together for my mother last year as a gift with a Rosewill case, granted it was a cheaper model, but I was very unhappy with the quality and filtration. Of course you're supposed to clean the dust out of computer towers every few months (few people do), but that case was horrible for accumulating dust to the point that just a few weeks would build up dust to the point the CPU starts getting toasty on it. If you're looking for clean and simple, I'd look at Corsair Obsidians or something similar.

I say splurge on a case, since its going to be the sole cosmetic piece that defines your system as well as protects it.

As far as trimming the budget, honestly there are good air cooling solutions out there that can give you surprisingly good results for overclocking for a fraction of the price of liquid cooling (See CoolerMaster 212 Evo)

No he is right to get 4 modules, Haswell-e LGA2011 CPUs have quad-channel memory.

I understand the quad channel memory, but honestly I doubt you will find much benefit from it in terms of both benchmarks and real world performance. Also don't think you will see much of a difference between 1600mhz RAM and 2133 RAM, not for the premium you're going to pay for it. Besides, that speed rating is the maxiumum its guaranteed to run at, 1600mhz RAM may or may not be able to be run at 2133mhz, just like when you buy a 3.3GHZ CPU, yes you can overclock it, but Intel is only guaranteeing you're going to get 3.3 out of it, realistically much higher if you desired.

Either way, I'm sure we can disagree on the finer points, but I think we would probably agree on not going with a "value series". Especially when the price difference is negligible.

I also wouldn't drop 270 dollars on a motherboard, $200 is more than enough. Whats an Asus Sabertooth 2011 board running these days? 5 year warranties on those suckers.

My mistake... I forgot LGA 2011 boards cost a fortune.. oh well.
