I thought of an idea to build a pc in a Gamecube case. I want to figure out if a motherboard will even fit inside one. If not Mini ITX, is there a form factor that will?

More about : dimensions mini itx motherboards

Each board will have slightly different measurements, they are not all cut the same, it just means that they have a set max size and a set screw location.

ITX is the smallest size, you also have to do addon cards if there is any, power supply, you need standoffs for the motherboard so it does not short out, you need decent bays for hard drives, and you need airflow. Whateve the gamecube has in it is not enough for pc components.

In all reality you will spend way more then $40 (cost of cheap ITX case) plus hours and hours of time to do this (and you will need some decent fabrication skills to pull it off)

I am willing to spend time to do this. Thats only why I want to do it, just for fun. So is there any way to tell the dimensions of a board?

Here is the build I was thinking:

If the motherboard fits, then I may be able to fit the SSD and maybe the small PSU (on bottom of list) Inside it. If not, it can be external.

A standard ITX board is 170mm*170mm (minus a mm here or there), significantly larger than a Gamecube.
There are smaller motherboard form factors but nothing particularly mainstream.

Thanks. This is what I was looking for. I have a red ring Xbox 360, It'll sure fit in that with room for more. So i am going to do it in an Xbox 360 case.
