So last night I decided to login to my netgear router and proceeded to mess the damn thing up so I restored it to factory settings. After doing that I recreated my previous network using the same SSID as before and password, All of my devices work two laptops one on windows 7 and one on windows 8 as well as two iphones a samsung galaxy phone and my desktop computer that is connected through ethernet all connect to the network without an issue. My old windows xp laptop will no longer connect to the network it comes up with an error saying "router out of distance windows" and is unable to connect. However when I disable the network security it connects and then when I enable it again the prompts me for the password and the comes up with another error "The network password needs to be 40bits or 104bits" . I don't want to have my security disabled and am not sure what to do I have tried to delete the drivers and it auto detects them and i still have the same problem. Any help would be much appreciated.

It had previously worked on the same network with WPA, its XP service pack two.
