My wife was updating java on her work laptop and for some reason, she closed the lid, which shut it down, which interrupted the installation. Now the thing blue screens about the time java would load and in safe mode, can't uninstall java or do a new install...windows won't let us for some reason.

There is no it department to speak of, and I'm usually her it dept, as sad as my "skills" are.

Any suggestions?

Steps taken so far are:
Start in safe mode --uninstall java....NOPE
Start in safe mode -- re-install java....NOPE.
Throw laptop into a glacial fed water....NOT YET...

Look around the start menu items for "IE (no add-ons)" and see if you can install java from there. I think its either in system tools or admin tools.
