Lately my PC has been having a lot of issues. It was a pre built custom PC that's running windows 8.1 I believe. About a week ago I started getting the BSoD saying Bad_pool_header, NTFS file system, and Kernel_data_inpage. When I looked these errors up and talked to some people it seemed like the answer was bad RAM. My computer wouldn't stay on for longer than 15 minutes usually without crashing. I tried doing a refresh and running virus scans to be safe but no luck. I used some old ram sticks my friend had that we knew worked fine and the computer seemed to work well again. I had no issues at all. This lasted for about 2 days and then today I received the Kernel_data_inpage error on the BSoD. when I looked this up on Microsoft's forums I found a reply saying that it was probably my drive and it needed to be repaired and I followed the steps given. I ran cmd as admin and did chkdsk /r. When asked if I wanted it to be done on restart I said yes and then restarted my computer. It went to 27% quite fast and now for the past hour it has been sitting at 27% saying "scanning and repairing drive (C:) : 27% complete. It seems to be stuck and was wondering if for some reason it was just taking a while or if it really is stuck and where to proceed from here. When I looked this issue up I found many different answers so I wanted to ask for my specific case. If anyone has any answer as to why this is happening OR anything explaining what you believe my computer is having trouble with in general I would be extremely thankful. I know a decent amount about the basics of the hardware and software but please speak as if to someone new to these types of things as I have never done this before. Thank you very much.
