After connecting an iPod touch to my laptop, the computer threw a BSoD, restarted, threw another BSoD, then repeated that. Now the computer will just give a flash of light and a puff from the fan when the power button is pressed. What made this happen?

It happened to my desktop a couple years back. I connected it without Itunes, and my motherboard was fried. I had to throw out my computer. I don't know why it happened, but whatever it is Apple should fix it. The guys at the shop told me it was fried but yours might be different. I am never buying a Apple product again.

Thank you for your quick response. I was running windows 7 Pro, and I do not have iTunes installed. I removed the HDD from the laptop, and the power does the same thing. looks like a power or mobo issue.

For me it was a motherboard. Back than I didnt know anything about PC's so i threw out my whole computer. Wasn't a smart choice. since I could easily replace it. However since you have a laptop it is gonna be hard for you to find a replacement motherboard for the laptop. I don't have much knowledge about laptop motherboards. Best of luck!
