http://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus-essentio-desktop-12gb-...;jsessionid=636C25A42E863368FCB5F7AC0F435FE2.bbolsp-app03-109?id=1219159703153&skuId=5818029&st=pcmcat287600050002_categoryid$abcat0501000&cp=1&lp=1

and switch the Graphics card to a NVIDIA 980?

Don't say "Youll over kill it" or "Build your own instead"

Just say yes or no please :)

but first I want to know if its compatible and why I should do it or why not

More about : buy prebuilt switch graphics card

Actually after reading both of the specs. I would suggest neither. Though the Asus is good because you have i7, it doesn't have a ssd in it, it can't be overclocked, and a graphics card that is meh. The digital storm won't allow you to SLI later on and comes with a i5 (yes its comes overclocked). I think you find a better deal elsewhere.

Though I have to ask, why are you against building? Also have you looked into other pc builders yet?

I would go for the asus and then upgrade the GPU. Comes with a better processor and more ram. You will not be able to overclock the i7 on asus, if you cared about that.

one thing is, is that you WILL have to get a new power supply if you go with the asus machine as the one that it will have in it will almost certainly be too small

It is too small, it only has a 330w power supply.

With a prebuilt, looking to upgrade it right out of the box....you're buying parts twice.
GPU and PSU, primarily.

I don't overclock, I don't understand why people do it i've heard it the performance doesn't really change.
I can get a new power supply and the NVIDIA GTX 980
Can you recommend me a good power supply from pcpartpicker? :)

I'm not against building at all, I just want to get a prebuilt pc first to start knowing the parts and just research from it a guess. but I do plan to build my own in the future when I'm older, I'm 16 and my parents don't really trust me with building my own PC

Best way to convince your parents - buy/find several broken PC's and make them work.

If you can please link me to a good High End gaming PC to play games like Battlefield 4, Arma 3, Random steam games, Tomb Raider, Call of duty, Minecraft, Skyrim, Elder scrolls online, Crysis, Hitman, and those kind of games on ultra settings and will play smoothly? :)  I would use it for gaming + rendering and recording. And I think ill use it excessively aka all day lol.
I would prefer the budget to be from 1000-1800 :)
And of course that itll last
Windows 8.1 preferably (heard its best for gaming now)

Oh and also that it would be able to run GTA V when it comes out (really intensive game)

I built my first pc around 15, but understandable. And overclocking does help (Think of it like this: it can take a cheaper item and bring it to a more expensive item). PCPartpicker makes it to get parts. I would really try to see if you just build your own. You would have a much better experience plus you get to choose your parts.

If that doesn't work. I recommend maybe getting a cheaper dell (or any other brand honestly) and just replace the GPU and the PSU (and make sure it has 8 GBs of RAM). Should be pretty easy. Maybe later install a ssd and put an operating system on it. Check out techbargians for deals on desktops.

So you have a pretty nice budget. Does that include monitors and mice/keyboard? Honestly stick with this:

Vanquish II and get a nice monitor and keyboard/mouse. That will get you to play max setting almost on any game. You don't need an i7. You said you don't want to overclock, so you can just get an i5 4690 without the K. Stick with 8 GBs of RAM. Also try and get a SSD. Huge improvements there from a standard Hard drive.

tell your dad to build it for you and youtube neweggs guide on building a pc he will know exactly how to do it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPIXAtNGGCw

This is why you should build a pc:

Imagine a burger with all its fillings cheese meat and sauce a shop may sell one and give you **** cheese but you bought it all together so you cant take it out now or its a burger without cheese.

When you build it yourself you can select the exact meat and cheese you want without getting **** quality stuff at a high price

I used to want an alienware pc now I learned about building a pc I would not take an alienware pc even if it was for free

<Language please. Thanks>

Here is a quick build. I choose the MSI GTX 970 (I am using this). That card will be plenty. Just get another one and SLI them together if you need more GPU. The PSU will last you for a while and you don't need to worry about expansion either (this will allow for another GPU to be added in).

I choose that case, but just look around at cases. I recommend Corsair, thermaltake, and cooler master.

Just look at videos online. Its extremely easy. I included a monitor and that probably will crush most pre-built systems at that price. and hey you still have 200 left in your budget.

If you have any other questions, you can just ask. We are here to help and point in the right direction. Never can start too young in building a custom rig vs buying one.

Edit: One last thing. If you don't plan to overclock, you don't have to get the CPU Cooler (though I recommend it still). But you can go with this build. You can save about 50 bucks. I basically just changed it from a i5 4690K to a i5 4690 and a MSI Z97 board to a Gigabyte H97 (major difference is that you can't overclock the CPU with a H97 motherboard).

If you build it yourself you'll save 10-30%.
