Any necessary steps that need to be taken in order to switch from an AMD card to an NVIDIA card.
Is there a special process that I need to go through so that everything is well and working. I don't want any trouble with drivers, etc when changing the cards so I thought I'd prepare everything before putting in my new card.

Solution
1) Uninstall your AMD GPU drivers (Catalyst) and restart your computer with the Nvidia card.
2) Install the Nvidia drivers and restart.

That is what you essentially need to do (except from taking the card out and all that stuff)

So take out the AMD card between uninstalling the driver and restarting the computer with the Nvidia card right?

Yep, uninstall the AMD drivers then take out the card. Put the Nvidia on in then install drivers and restart.
