So recently, I started getting horizonal lines on my monitor and after a while playing a game, my screen froze with the whole screen filled with black and white horizontal lines. I have a msi r9 270 and cruciel sports ram ddr3 1600 cl9 16g. I tried changing monitor and still get it, however it was only a flash of lines, it has not freezin. Could you guys tell me what is wrong? I only had mycomputer for 2 months.

1. Your GPU may simply be overheating so check the temps while gaming or doing a benchmark, if they're going above 80 Celcius, try lowering the core clock and voltage to see if it helps.

2. This may be more relevant to the 280, 280X, +, etc etc. series AMD cards, but when they were released, a lot of them needed a BIOS update in order to run properly and avoid basically exactly what you're describing, so, check MSI's support website for your specific card to see if there is a newer BIOS for your card. As always, flash any BIOS at your own risk as you can turn your piece of hardware into a paperweight.

Could be your monitor connection cables. Are you sure they are securely connected? Are you using VGA? I used to have a problem where the screen would flicker slightly when playing games, was because I was using VGA, stupidly. Upgraded to HDMI/DVI and problem is fixed

My monitors only uses vga and i tried changing a vga cable to another, but problem still exist. I also check my temperature and the max it would go up was 45 degree. I don't think it could be my processor either because the temp on that was quit low at around 25 degree. As for the bios upsate im sure you mentioned that it was more relevent to r9 280+. I think it could be the vga or maybe not due to the problem just started a few days ago even though it never happened before when i was also using the same vga core.
