Hello. I don't know much about the computer's inside.
I have a Dell XPS 435T/9000 4 years old. I wanted to upgrade the RAM so Dell told me use oc3-8500 with 4Gb max for each slot. So Best Buy said I can use PNY pc3-10666. I have 6 slots and each one has one 1 Gb ram. I replaced two slots with the new 4 Gb RAMs. After I started the computer, it only showed 4 Gb. Then I removed the new ones and put back the original (old) ones back. It still showes that I have 4 Gb of total RAM. I am pretty sure I did not damage the slots. I moved around the old RAMs to see what happens. It looks like that the computer can't see those two slots!!! :(  Now I am afraid to try other slots with the new ones. Please help and comment. Thank you.

How are you looking? What OS are yu running? Id you boot Windows XP and ask it, then the 32-bit Windows XP can't see or use more than 4 GB or RAM.

If you look somewhere in the BIOS, then that may indicate some other issue. Also, having 6 RAM slots are really weird. I'll look up your computer specs soon, but I can't remember when last triple-channel memory was a motherboard feature. Are you sure you have 6 RAM slots?

Do you have your computer's manual?
Have you tried clearing the CMOS?

Just to clarify, this is your Dell's motherboard?
