Hello. I don't know much about the computer's inside.
I have a Dell XPS 435T/9000 4 years old. I wanted to upgrade the RAM so Dell told me use oc3-8500 with 4Gb max for each slot. So Best Buy said I can use PNY pc3-10666. I have 6 slots and each one has one 1 Gb ram. I replaced two slots with the new 4 Gb RAMs. After I started the computer, it only showed 4 Gb. Then I removed the new ones and put back the original (old) ones back. It still showes that I have 4 Gb of total RAM. I am pretty sure I did not damage the slots. I moved around the old RAMs to see what happens. It looks like that the computer can't see those two slots!!! Now I am afraid to try other slots with the new ones. Please help and comment. Thank you.
