My friend gave me his old HP Pavilion Slimline s5-1128p desktop computer and the system specs are outdated. I want to upgrade it's APU to something a little higher, like the A6-6400k APU or the AMD Quad-Core A8-Series APU A8-6600K. Is the HP Pavilion Slimline s5-1128p's power supply too low to power these APUs?

Current APU - AMD A4-3400 APU with Radeon HD Graphics 2.70 GHz

Desktop - HP Pavilion Slimline s5-1128p

I want to change it's APU to either AMD A6-6400k APU or the AMD Quad-Core A8-Series APU A8-6600K

More about : upgrade system apu

the a6-6400k has the same TDP. You should be able to upgrade. the a8-6600 has a much higher TDP

Thanks for the info!

However, does this mean I won't be able to add the A8-6600?

depends on how much your PSU can handle. What's the make of your power supply and what are its Watt-ratings?
