I've been reading a lot and there is a lot of incorrect or outdated info about Secure boot, UEFI and Ubuntu with or without Dual Boot. So after getting totally confused I decided just to install Ubuntu as Dual Boot and see what happens. Okay number one in my UEFI I have Secure Boot Enabled with Windows UEFI mode not Other OS , CSM is Disabled. So between this 2 options I am getting Complete Windows Secure Boot scenario. So I am installing Ubuntu and on bootloader driver option I decided to put boot record to same drive where I am installing Ubuntu and not Windows drive. So I am thinking it will get to Windows normally all the time and when I want Ubuntu I'll hit F8 and will select my Ubuntu drive with bootloader on it. So everything installed good computer restarts and here what I see and where my confusion is at.

Back in a day we had Boot record that basically tell system what to boot blah blah. Now here is what I see. I see thing called Windows Boot Manager that is booting my Windows installation. Then I see Ubuntu, but Ubuntu is not on drive where it's actually installed and where I pointed installer to install bootloader but a Windows drive and If I try to boot with it indeed I see grub2 and I can select Ubuntu or I can select Windows (usual Grub2 purple window) and I totally don't see my drive with actual Ubuntu or bootloader on it. So here is my question. This Windows Boot Manager, where is it ? I mean it's on my Boot drive or it's some kind of UEFI extension that records my Windows configuration. Then why Grub starting on Drive that shouldn't have anything to do with Ubuntu at all ? I am very confused right now. I mean Everything works EXACTLY how I wanted, without anything Windows boots. IF I press F8 I am getting Windows Boot Manager and Ubuntu selection, upon Ubuntu select I am getting GRUB2 so I have a chance to once again Boot Windows or go to Ubuntu. Now I am thinking if Windows would of been default number 1 choice I would of just stick with GRUB loader but because often I press power button and go away I don't want to then restart wait for Grub to select Windows.
