Currently tossing up between the Gigabyte z97x gaming 7 and the Asus maximus VII Ranger

Any other suggestions at that price point would be appreciated!

Of the two, I'd go the Ranger, it's a litle brother to the Hero which is the best Z97 I've worked with so far (and picked up for my Z97), it doesn't look like they are going to have the Ranger in the States, would love to get one ;)

Ok thank you for the reply. Just out of curiosity, why the Ranger (looking for specific reasons)?

I found in the Z87 mobos, that Asus seemed to have the best handle on the chipset and the CPUs (OCing, temps, etc), the Rock was generally my second choice and GB 3rd (the only three brands I'll build on) - trend seems to have continued, my Z97 Hero is much improved over the Z87 (Which was the best rated Z87) and the design for the Ranger is pretty much the same as the Hero
