I bought a 760 4gb card. I can't find a 4gb card that wasn't overclocked. This met my budget($199.99).

Thing is, I have no interest in overclocking. Will I be able to safely use this card without damaging my cpu? If anyone bought an overclocked GPU, do they allow you to put it back to stock settings?

More about : msi 760 gtx

The GFX card clock has nothing to do with the CPU.

Take "overclock" with a grain of salt ...if you buy 1600 RAM, that's the overclocked speed.

When ya CPU goes into Turbo mode, that's essentially an overclock.

There is no reason to put it back to stock settings tho MSI afterburner will let you clock it however you want. I haven't had an non overclocked card in 10 years....and then when I get them every one of them was overclocked more....usually 20-28%.

As long as you don't break 85C you have no problems, max temp on the reference .... and the max allowable temp is 97C ... that wud take effort to accomplish

Thanks for the solution.

I have a stock Intel cooler. Should I buy a larger cooler for my cpu even though its not overclocked?
