Hi Guys,

So my friend asked for me to put together a sort of budget gaming build!

These are the specs I currently have:

CPU: Intel i5 4690k

Motherboard: MSI Z97 Gaming 7 Motherboard

Ram: Kingston Hyper X Fury 8GB

HDD: 1 X Kingston HyperX 240gb SSD - Boot Drive
1 X Western Digital 1TB

Case: Corsair Carbide 300R

GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB

There is also an optical drive, corsair h80i cooler.

I was wandering if all of these would be compatbile and if there is any suggestions?

It is to play higher end games:)

More about : gaming build asap

Instead of the gtx 770, get the gtx 970 or 980, and you don't really need i7 4970k, a 4790k will work just as well. Just make sure the motherboard is compatible with the cpu you end up choosing.

BTW a i7 4970k with 16gb or ram and a gtx 770 isn't really considered a budget build xD

If you can afford it, go for a i7 4790k, but it is only better at editing/rendering, if you are just gaming then go for the i5 4690k. The rest of the build is really good.

It is really good, especially if you overclock. In fact I highly recommend you overclock as you have a good liquid cpu cooler, go for it and you will get amazing performance if you overclock, of course stock performance is still really good.

No, I would go ahead and purchase it, looks really good and it should be able to run the latest games easily. BTW you don't need 16gb of ram for gaming, drop it to 8gb if you are just gaming and not editing. Use the money saved to buy a MSI gtx 980 if you want :D

No problem, but seriously, if you aren't editing no point getting 16gb of ram, just get 8 and use the money you save to upgrade to the MSI gtx 980, it will be much better for gaming.

Looks good now, maybe if you can upgrade the gpu to a gtx 980, or you can get a cooler looking case like the NZXT phantom (The white edition looks awesome).
