Best is a very loose term , The best CPU is chosen according to your needs not to what's the best on the market because simply there's not a best CPU in the market I'm afraid.

I can just tell you that the intel 5960X is the best CPU on the market but is that the entire story ? No , sometimes an i3 will be the best thing for your needs and not an extreme i7 with 8 cores and 16 threads as well as 40 PCIe lanes that you'll probably never use.

So please tell us your needs and what do you intend on doing before we can answer your question :)

Thanks

This time you re wrong ! Intel Core i7 5930K is better for gaming . 5960X is clocked low . In games 4790K beats 5960X along with single GPU

You're wrong because simply I didn't specify what its best for , you get my point now ;)  ?

For the record , It can be overclocked easily to 4.7 Ghz at 1.3v so its very usable for gaming too.

Look any I5 will deliver your needs however I still want more info .

Are you overclocking the CPU ? What do you prefer Nvidia or AMD graphics card and whether you'll SLI or Crossfire ( use Multiple Cards from Nvidia or AMD respectively ) ?

How much money do you have ? What is smooth for you in terms of Graphics ( how many FPS ) 60 ? What's your resolution ? :D
