Hi,

My PC has an i5 650 @ 3.2Ghz processor, intel DH55TC motherboard and 4GB RAM (2x2GB)

I want to upgrade it to 8GB. Shold I buy 2 2GB RAM sticks or should I buy a 4GB RAM stick. Is the Kingston 2GB DDR3 RAM (KVR1333D3N9/2G) compatible for my PC?

I would buy two 2GB sticks to fill up the slots and run them in dual channel. 8GB will be enough for a while, and when it won't you will probably wanna upgrade the mobo too anyway.

Buying two times that Kingston product will not run in dual-channel. There are dual-channel kits sold separately (has "2 x 4 GB" in their product name) which are tested to work in dual-channel. However, that stick is compatible with your motherboard.

So, should I buy 2 of those sticks any way? I will get 8GB RAM right even if it's not dual channel, or should I just buy a 4GB stick?

I think there are no more 2 x2 GB memory kits sold in India (in fllipkjart, snapdeal, itdepot). So you would have to buy the kingston kit twice and use it as 4 GB, Or buy a 2 x 4 GB and use it. But the budget will be around 6000 rupees.

Yea, I can buy the Kingston stick twice and it comes to Rs. 2900... I cant spend on 2 new 4GB cards as I need to but the Geforce 750Ti 2GB graphic card.

Okay then. With that tight budget, 2 times the kingston memory + GTX 750 Ti is the best idea.

Buy 8 gb in x2 4gb modules maxing them out will stress the mobo. I would get kingston savage just come out this year looks amazing

Now I've checked with the motherboard's memory support list and found that the Kingston KVR1333D3N9/2G is tested for compatibility and it passed the test. :)
