Just before I hit the purchase button, how do these components look for gaming?

AMD FX-8350 4.0Ghz 8-Core ($204.00)

Asus M5A99X-EVO R2 ($159.00)

Thermaltake SP-650PCBAU Smart 650w 80+ Bronze Power Supply ($90.00)

GSkill Ripjaws-X 8G Kit(4Gx2) DDR3 1866 ($101.00)

Gigabyte R928XOC-3GD 3GB R9-280X ($308.00)

All advice welcome.

Your build is very similar to what I was originally going for. I then checked out the AMD route and figured I could get more speed from CPU and Ram with AMD, since the i5 doesn't support hypertheading or ram over 1600mhz without OC.

I couldn't find a case I liked for the price so I'm just recycling an old Coolermaster ATX case and I already have HDD's, Optical drive and CPU Cooler. Ps, all my part prices are from MSY.
