Well i should say it sees it but cannot access it, it says there are partitions it does not recognize , to go to disc management and fix the problem , i used it to put my backup on then i had to do a clean install of my OS on my main hard drive (it is a 1 TB hard drive ) after that i could no longer access the backup , it is a (230 GB hard drive ) any one got an answer to my problem

Hey spock152. Open up Disk Management and see what it shows. It could be as easily fixable as assigning the drive a new letter or it might be something else. Here's some info on how to do that: http://wdc.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/137/
Just click on the corresponding OS and follow the instructions.
