I bought an Asus motherboard that does not have any WIFI or Bluetooth. But it has a mPCIe slot, so I installed the Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6235 card.

It just came with the card, not antenna for WIFI or Bluetooth. So I picked up a couple of high gain antenna from eBay. The WIFI works fine, the bluetooth not so much.

I can see bluetooth devices but I can never connect. In Windows 7 I get the following error message:

Adding the device failed resulting in an unkown error. The reported error code is: 0x80004005.

Google did not get me anywhere with that info.

I have switched the antenna around to see if it was a bad antenna but get the same thing.

Do I need a special antenna for bluetooth?

I have tried using BluetoothView to debug the problem. I can see various bluetooth devices, but when I attempt to connect it eventually times out and gives the following error: Connection Failed (Error Code: 10060).

Any ideas or how I can go about further to debug the problem?
