PC Specs:
Intel core i7 4970k
16gb ram < tested with memtest no errors or issues
1tb hdd and ssd < tested and no errors or issues
gtx 660
850w psu by evga, 80+ certified.

since i have installed my gtx 660 i have had nothing but trouble. When i play videogames its fine for a bit and then it completely crashes, and sometimes my monitor makes a strange buzzing and interference noise.

i have tried uninstalling and updating drivers, changing the core and memory clock to -100 and beyond
tried upping my gpu speed to 70%.

my cpu while running arma 3 or assetto corsa or any games is usually between 45-60 degrees
my gpu runs at 50-75.

i get these errors in my event viewer.

and these: http://puu.sh/cbW1o/af82b6518d.png
and application has blocked chrome.exe
I am literally forced to restart my PC by pressing the outer button (on my case).
Somtimes my whole PC freezes.
I'm almost 100 percent sure it isnt the games causing this problem
its windows 8.1, my graphics card or something.

i have tried running malware and virus scans.. no results..

can someone inspect please? ive tried other forums and no where has solved my issue.

I'd go for a fresh Windows 8.1 install.

Or

completely remove drivers with DDU in Safe Mode.

Install them again.

Backup your data first to another driver or a USB drive.

Then boot to Windows 8 (or 8.1) installation disk and do a fresh install. Format the drive during installation.

Why not install an older driver to be sure. Considering that you have a pretty good PSU, I'd say it is your GPU as well, but I'd try an older driver first.

Nope none of these are working.
I launch assetto corsa for 3 minutes i start to hear buzzing strange sounds and fuzziness from my monitor.
then my pc freezes and i have to press my case power reset button.
and log back on > even viewer: The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.

RMA - as in a warranty claim.

I would go for the GTX 970. It is a bit expensive at $350, but if you were looking at the 980, it is a much better value.
