How can I find out my CPU temperature?

Hello, I am curious about how I can check my CPU temperature, as I have previously been using Speccy, which persistently told me that after gaming I was topping 90'C. However, after some extensive research into ways to fix this problem, I discovered that my CPU can supposedly only withstand 74'C. After learning this I looked into whether Speccy was being faulty and supposedly, Speccy is not compatible with AMD processors and is unable to read their temperature. Also, HVMonitor is mean't to be incompatible too. Therefore, I was wondering if there is any other software I can use? I have an AMD A8 6600k Quad Core processor.

Thank you in advance.

How does 'Core temp' work? It says that the temperature of 'CPU #0' is 0'c? And also I would prefer to not have to purchase anything, I'd just like to use some downloadable software.

Honestly, I am probably just being really stupid, but I just don't understand any of the programs you guys have been suggesting, Speccy just told me plain and simple what the temperature of each individual core was and then gave an average. Clearly it gave me the wrong numbers but is there another program that works just as easy as Speccy? Or can somebody explain how to use a program like CPU-Z or Core Temp?

Thanks for everybody's help! I understand how AMD processors measure their temperature now using thermal margins for some reason, I now use AMD OverDrive to monitor temperature.
