hey everyone, first build, so bear with me. Here's what i've got:

CPU: i7-4790K
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
MB: Asus Z97-AR
RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport DDR3 1600 (2x8gb)
GPU: Asus Nvidia GTX 660
PSU: Evga 750W G2
Storage: Crucial MX100 256gb SSD, WD Black 1TB, WD Blue 1TB, Seagate Barracuda 256gb

I had the CPU Error LED turn on when i first built it, but after reseating the CPU, all was well. Got it booted up and installed Windows. Awesome, working fine, no heat issues, got programs installed, basically all set.

Walk away for a little bit, PC is on but not responsive. Had to power cycle it and when it reboots, CPU Error LED is on and won't post.

I ended up removing the heat sink and tried reboot: nothing

Resat the CPU: Everything boots normally. Shut down, install heatsink, boots up, we're back.

Really not sure what is going on here, am I missing something? Just want this to be as stable as possible. I don't plan on OCing or anything. This is my first build, so hopefully I didn't oversee something.

Oh, a side note, I turned off "Fast Boot" in the BIOS, i read that might cause issues? idk. also i didn't tighten the heatsink all the way down, although it says to. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
