Hi All,

I've got an MSI B85I mobo like this:

https://www.komplett.no/msi-b85i-socket-1150/797778#!tab:extra

Which I was using a Zotac GT610 and 300W PS and I tried to switch to GTX 650 or GTX 780, both of which just give black screen, no BIOS, both of which disable on-board video. I thought maybe it was the 300W PS not having enough juice (650 gets power from the slot, 780 from a connector) so I got a 450W but still the same problem.

Using on-board video (with no PCIe installed) I've tried setting PEGO to auto, 1, 2, and 3, same results.

I've tried DVI and HDMI. I haven't got VGA to test.

The GT610 which works has about 15 fewer contacts than the other 2 cards.

Any suggestions?

reseat your memory, if you arent getting picture from either it points to the memory, seen it plenty of times and most of the time reseating will fix it

I am not sure about the 650 but for the 780 you need a better psu. The 780 is recommended minimum of 650w but it will work with a good quality 600w. 450w will not cut it

I gave reseating the memory a go, no luck. And yes, the 780 needs more power I see now. I just chucked it in there as a test, the 650 that is the card intended to be used at it calls for a 400W minimum which is why I got the 450. I tried unplugging my SSD and fans just to see, but same thing.

Is it possible that the card is somehow defaulting to the VGA output?
