Which Intel core i5 processor is best for gaming?

Solution

The i5-4690 is what you want. Since you said you aren't overclocking it, I'm just suggesting the Haswell i5 with the highest stock clock.

bohlingc's recommendation still stands, in this case your primary concern is motherboard compatibility. But using this architecture type provided with a socket compatibility you won't have any issues. After that the concern is GPU compatibly with the individual games programming and driver optimization. You may need to lower AA to 2 or 4x in some AAA titles, but at 1080p you really won't see much of a difference.

If i5 4690 is not available in your region, get Intel i5 4670. That's a good CPU and since you're not into overclocking, I would suggest you to buy it.
