Hi i have a 500 gigabyte hard drive in my PC and i have noticed that it has gotten quite full (50gb left). i have a 1tb External HDD that i just use for storing stuff i don't need on my regular HDD.I was wondering if there was a software that allows me to backup my regular HDD to the external hard drive and then wipe the hard drive that is in my PC?

-Sorry if this was the wrong place to post it.

Are you wanting to back up files or the entire hard drive?

Backing up the entire hard drive would not help you at all because once you restore it you would be rightback where you started.

Hi there RyanLittlehales,

Why would you want to wipe it? You can just move things like media, games you don't play that often, etc. to your external and free up some storage space.
Running Disk Cleanup will not be a bad idea also.
Anyway, a cloning program can clone your primary HDD on your external one it this is what you want.
