Alright, i've decided d/t space constraints to downgrade my computer size from the full tower i'm currently using to a Mini-ITX. I Know some of them have pretty good air flow, so my question is this: should I get a 4790K(4.0 GHz) paired with a Z97 Mobo, or a 4790S(3.2 GHz) paired with a H97 Mobo. Money isn't an issue here at all, my concerns are that I would miss the extra .8 GHZ with the 4790S, but that the 4790K may run too hot for the system. This computer will be used solely for gaming, paired with a 280X(I've already got the case and it fits-barely). The reason why i'm debating on the Mobo, is because the H97 doesn't allow for overclocking, but if I get the 4790K, and it's not too hot, i'm going to try overclocking it a little. So any suggestions?

For R9 280X even Core i5 is enough . Btw, i7 4790K is great CPU - without overclocking , you get 4GHz/4.4GHz even on H97 mobo !

right, but i'll probably upgrade the GPU again, and if i get the 4790k, i'll want to overclock, so i'd end up getting the Z97 lol. im just wondering if anyone has had experience pushing a 4790k in a mini-ITX setup and if it was too hot or not
