Converting Dual-Boot To Single

Hi folks, I have a dual-boot system which apparently has had a drive failure in the primary drive with the boot sector.

The system started booting up to a cursor, so I pulled out the boot disk and ran Scandisk on another system and Scandisk informed me it couldn't complete the process.

So I'll have to assume that drive is toast. My dual-boot setup was for a Win XP and Win 7 64 setup, the Win XP drive which apparently has failed had the boot sector.

Is it possible to convert the existing Win 7 Drive to start up on it's own, or do I have to re-install Win 7 from scratch?

Thanks for any info on this.

Hardware-wise, it's a 6-core Phenom based on an MSI 870-G45 motherboard, 16 gigs of Corsair XMS3 ram, Eagle VoltasX 550 watt PS, and an ATI 4530 card.
