Hey guys . I am a complete newb to building a pc so i have gone through many transformations of my build with the most recent one downgrading from an i7 to an i5 to save money. Now i am trying to get the most fps possible but from research ive done online the jump from an i5 to an i7 isnt a big deal. What type of fps do you think id get in games particularlly cs go and some other other games on high settings with this build i play many games like cs go guild wars 2 battlefield starcraft etc. If i am not getting a huge leap of fps on all games from the pc i have now i will consider not even upgrading i have a laptop right now with a 660m i7@3.15ghz thanks guys !

i7 build:

i5 build:

I also stream from time to time but not enough to say i do it alot. Thanks!

PS: i would love to play games on ultra with 60+ fps , and i am not planning on overclocking.

Didn't even look at the i7 build, the i5 is fine for what you want. With one exception: you're going to want to overclock I'm guessing, look into a more full featured motherboard for stability purposes and whatever you need to cool the voltage regulator.

Not planning on oc'ing but i didnt know a i5 can play games on ultra and handle streaming as well.

1. If you are not going to be overclocking the cooler that comes with the CPU will do fine.

2. The i5 is a 3.5 / 3.9 Ghz processor / the i7 is a 4.0 / 4.4 Ghz processor so yes, 14% is a big deal .... if you were overclcoking, then you eliminate most of that gap.

3. The AIO water coolers are useless .... none of them can touch the air coolers at lower prices.....see item 1

4. You'd want a Z97 MoBo with a K processor

5. An SSD is something I wouldn't bother with ... it will help you boot 0.9 seconds faster and do squat for your games.

I matched ya price of the i7 build and improved every component (well $13 more)

I need a monitor :p cause i am on a laptop right now haha. I am not going to overclock so i chose the cpu's without the K and i already removed the cooling system. These are my two new builds:

What do you think? Also would i be able to play bf4 on ultra settings with i5 rig with High FPS? and is 8gb enough for just gaming and some streaming?
