At a friend's place was trying to connect using AndriodAP which he enabled on his phone. It seemed to be working, but I could only browse with very limited capabilities.

For example google and just about every google service (gmail etc) could be accessed. I could land on yahoo.com's homepage, but clicking on any of the links to news resulted in "this webpage cannot be displayed" Cannot remember the exact text, but if I remember correctly, basically it was saying no internet connection.

I tried many other websites - facebook's homepage worked, airbnb was ok as well as many of the listings, twitter could be accessed, but trying to view any of the links failed.

I have extremely limited experience with smartphones (In fact, I have never owned one) and I think this problem is quite strange.

Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I'm using windows 7 64bit if that is useful. I can provide further information where necessary. :)

Any clues about this one? I bet there is a simple solution, but as for what that is, it beats me. :(
