Can I run a radeon R9 290 on a Gigabyte greenmax 650w 80+ bronze powersupply

going by the specs of the psu it should do. It has 4x 12v rails so you just need to make sure you spread the load over the rails evenly (eg run separate pcie cables from the psu that are on different rails to the power connectors on the card.

Should be fine. I know the 290 draws 300W but you have a decent rated PSU. Depending on how many other drives your running and processor. If it's an AMD, I would up the PSU. A modern intel you should be ok. If you give me a little more info I will be able to help you better :) .

thanks I have a msi z77a-G43 mobo with an i5 3570k overclocked to 4.2ghz on a coolermaster hyper 212x aircooler, i only have a single 1tb hdd.

Cooler Master PSU Calculator is say you need 472W for your config.

So you should be fine with the 650W.
