Hi there,
I am currently looking to upgrade my setup from an Athlon 760K to a better model.
My budget is strictly £200.
I am looking at the: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Intel-Graphics-BX80646I74770-Ge... .
Is this the best one in my budget or are there any advances on it (apart from the 4690k).
Thanks for your time,
Tom

It depends on your needs. But yeah for gaming, and everyday use it's probably the best choice for that ammount of money. I would go for the 4690k by the way, that little extra money is well spent on +500Mhz IMO.

If you do video editing or heavy multitasking then you should consider an i7 solely because of it's hyperthreading capability.

Hi there,
I do occasionally render a video on Vegas Pro, if I were to go for an i7, could you please link to a solid but relatively cheap model please,
cheers,
Tom

That's tough :)  If I were you I would wait until the holiday. And when the prices start to drop (which will definitely be the case) buy a 4770k or even a 4790k if it is below £200. If you can't wait then I'm afraid I can not wholeheartedly recommend an i7 below £200.

Also, if you don't plan to overclock, then drop the "K" and save some bucks. (There are 4770 for about £210)
