NET 2.0 installation problem

I need Net2.0 only. I downloaded Net2.0. During the time of installation it shows " this product is already installed as the part of the operating system". I uninstalled the already installed Net4.0 through control panel. But still it shows like that. Is it a problem or not? how do overcome this?

It might have installed through windows update. When the product is already installed, why do you want to install it again? To check what version is installed, go through this. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh925568(v=vs.110).aspx
