Hello there,
I have Sony Xperia Acro S which has 1GB of RAM but whenever I open up the Running Apps in the settings it shows that only around 150-180mb of RAM is free
My question is, does android system application uses this much RAM? over 500mb?
And why does it show a total of 686mb RAM when the device should have 1GB total RAM?
Is there something wrong? I just bought the device and its like this forever
The device runs pretty good theres not problem but I feel pissed off when I see only around 200mb of RAM free and total is not anywhere near to 1gB

More about : android ram

dont forget the orignal os and i am sorry i cannot say how much it actually uses but it could be around 200 to 300 for sure with all the stuff it has to do .... just like a pc back in the day

you may have a 500gb hard drive but after the os and all you might have a 400gb usable hard drive

here we are talking about mb not gb

That is perfectly normal. The same thing happened with my samsung gs3 which also has 1gb. The best way to get round this is to disable most of the google stuff and the ram should drop.
