Hello,
So already a while back I updated from windows 8 to windows 8.1 on my Asus g75VX and one of the first things I noticed was that in Skype the microphone wasn't working. I didn't really Skype much back then, but soon I will be moving countries and the microphone will be important.
The problem: The microphone only shows to pick up static noise, no matter what I do. I messed around with the settings in the control panel and sound panel and resetting it to default, but nothing works. I tried uninstalling Realtek audio drivers and using the basic windows drivers, installing the latest audio drivers from Asus (they only have it for windows 8) and the latest from Realtek's website (tried both 32X and 64X). Nothing changes anything! I even contacted Asus and they told me to use the reset CD which basically resets it to windows 8 when it still worked, but I dont want to do that.
Now I'm running out of ideas on what to do... I might need to buy an external mic.
Thanks in advance!
