well i have fx 6300,8 gb ram,and cooler master thunder 700w.
I am thinking of getting palit gtx 970(jetstream) or sapphire r9 280x toxic.

with which gpu i'll be geting more fps?
i know that gtx 970 is more powerful but i guess my cpu will bottleneck it so please tell me which gpu is better for me.

More about : gtx 970 280x

GTX970 will still get more FPS and therefore better but look into OC on that FX6300.

GTX 970 hands down. And no, CPU, with suitable OCing would not bottleneck any given card, even if it does, it'd still produce better FPS than 280X. I'd also recommend it over 280X considering your PSU is not great quality.

970 if you have the money but look into getting a 8320 or 8350 CPU to replace what you have. Both the 280x and the 970 will be held back by the 6300 (depending on the game of course).

All are right , just to add GTX 970 is not only faster but has 4GB VRAM vs 3GB VRAM of R9 280X

i want to get 30+ fps on games for at least 1.5 or 2 years with 1080p(ultra high or high settings) and i never overclock my cpu
if i get 30+ fps then i don't care if my cpu bottlenecks my gpu or not so tell me will my cpu be able to handle that much
the thing is i bought fx 6300 a month ago and i cant replace it just now.

Yes it'll be alright for either GPUs, 970 will still be my choice due to obvious reasons.

You need an af cooler if you want to OC, and it wouldn't burn your CPU.

Depends on how high you overclock but say 4GHz 2-3 and limits low frame drops even more.

2-3 fps isn't much but without oc will it drop below 30?
