I have an fx 8320 and the same MoBo that you have selected. The motherboard is fantastic, well spaced out, easy to set up and install plus I've had no issues with it whatsoever.

Could you give us some more details on your build? I.e are you building this from scratch or do you have existing parts? Do you need an OS and if so is that part of the £600 budget? Then we'll be able to offer you more help :)

I am upgrading current parts, at the moment i have a GA-78LMT-S2P for a mobo, amd 6670 for a gpu, cpu is a amd fx 6100. I have a OS, ssd and psu which is winpower+plus 550. Also how big of a tower would i need to fit all new parts into.

To fit the Asus M5a99fx Pro R2.0 you will need an ATX case, your current MoBo is a Micro ATX board so it is likely you also have a Micro ATX case. I have a Zalman Z9 plus, which I really like as it has great airflow (so it runs nice and cool) and plenty of space inside.

Here's a partpicker list, which you should be able to afford assuming you are happy to re-use your old RAM. You could go for a better GPU if you want (such as the 970 in your original post) but it may knock you slightly over the £600 budget.

(Zalman Z9 plus is USB 2.0 only, if you want USB 3.0 swap it out for a different case)
