Sometimes the system boots fine, no errors, works smoothly.

Sometimes the system powers but doesn't boot, screen times out, CPU_LED error.
- If this happens, I switch the mains off and then on, this is the solution...sometimes first time, sometimes after 20 minutes of trying.

& then the worst scenario, I reset the mains power, and the PC is dead, power button does nothing.

I am hoping its a fault with the PSU, as al other components are less than 2 years old but the power supply is nearing 8 years old.

What do you think? I have checked the RAM, GPU and al connections, all seems to be fine, so I don't really know where to go from here to achieve an accurate diagnosis.

tell you what reset the bios to default shut down and discharge the board and go back and remove the cpu and see if there not a bent pin its can easly happen with intel and can cause this and if not carefully reinstall it and the cooler be sure the cooler is installed eavenly seems I read if the cooler is cocked in some way when fastened down can cause this too [??]
