So I'm trying to max out my monitor in bf4, my current build:

Cpu overclocked to 4GHz atm

I was thinking of upgrading to a asus strix gtx 970 and yes I am aware of the bottleneck that my cpu will most likely do. I plan on adventually upgrading to the Intel i7 4790k but slowly upgrading. Would I get over 120fps on high in bf4 or no with my current cpu.

For multiplayer that's cpu dependent. One thing I would really do is get off the budget PSU

The cpu will not bottleneck a GTX 970 at 1080p resolution playing BF4

No. I doubt you can get over 70 or 80 fps with your current CPU, although it will play on Ultra with no lag or dips at 50-60fps

I'm kinda wondering why you chose water cooling for that build? it's only a mid ranged gaming rig.

The card is not going to bottleneck by the processor just OC the CPU .

virtually no variation in frame rate between an FX 6350 [ lower clocked than the OP's processor ]and an intel i7 in BF4 with an R9 290X .

The GTX 970 will not be bottlenecked at all

^^ was that multiplayer?

This sounds like the same argument I was reading about the G3258 on BF4 a couple weeks ago.

I may be wrong but I think he's going to have problems on big servers trying to max out the game.

Easy solution to having probs on big servers while maxed...Don't max it or don't go in big servers :D

Well that eliminates quite a bit of fun atleast for me it does. It seems he wants to max it as much as possible. Realistically in Single Player as that article was pointing out it would be fine. But joining with a bunch of people it's going to kick his CPUs butt. A CPU upgrade would probably be advised.

while playing online games the FPS depends on the internet connection and the server.

Ofcourse I'm just assuming that those arent issues. But taking the game as a whole he can do just fine with 1 side of it. The other side of the game I think there is some work to be done. If he wants to upgrade I dont think that would be a bad idea.
