Hi guys! I need a little bit of help deciding what graphics card i should use? I would like to have either a quiet GPU or one that I can water cool. I am going to sell my current graphics card, the r9 290x which is way too hot and loud. I also want the card to be similarly performing to my r9 290x but is cooler. I will eventually be using dual gpus so what should I buy.

The GTX 970 would be perfect for you. What are your system specs?

probably the new 970 or 980 would be good options as they run cooler and probably use less energy also you could wait for other 900 series cards or the ti versions

The 970 will perform a little bit slower than the 290X however its more power efficient and runs cooler .

Maybe you can get a Water block for the 290X , it will be more of a gain than a loss especially that the new R9 290X sells now for as little as $370 bucks so selling a used one will get you about 250 bucks maximum then you'll have to pay extra 100-120 dollars depending on your choice of the 970 so I don't think its worth it , I believe a water block for your R9 290X will do well .

It will allow you to overclock higher , run cooler and with definitely less noise .

What you'll end up with is a card better than the 970 and runs very cool.

The 780 was good before the 900 series. The MSI GTX 970 Gaming http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NN0GEXQ would be a much wiser choice. It's faster, cheaper, uses less power, and produces less heat. There is no reason to consider a 780 unless you're getting one under $300.

Thank you guys. I am currently looking into the 970 and 980 but the 970 looks good to me. I might buy the 980 but we will see. Thanks! I am also open to more suggestions.
