So I just got around to picking up the parts for new rig and while putting it together, I realized that the Cooler Master MegaFlow 200mm fan I bought won't screw on the top section of the case. It fits in alright but there are no screws that can hold it in the space given. The holes are relative bigger than the screws.

Anybody who has the same case who can guide me with this?

It clearly mentions on the website as well as the packing box that it can support a 200mm top fan but I just do see how that's possible. I also saw previous posts regarding this issue but never an answer to it. Unless someone can guide as to how it's possible, I would have to say that this was a marketing gimmick and I have just wasted my money. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

They case should be drilled with std fan screws in mind! It is that way on my HAF 932.

Is that the only way?

Did you take the top of the case? They screw is applied from the top and screws into the plastic of the fan.

Im confused. We are stilling talking about the CM 690 III right?

Yes, I've taken the top panel out.

Here is what it looks like without the top panel.

Here is the 200mm fan place underneath it, supported with my hand for the purpose of this picture.

Clearly, the screws cannot be placed from the top. If I try to screw it in from the bottom, the holes which are hidden underneath the upper plate exists but are way to big and none of the screws with the cabinet or the fan will fit.

Any ideas? Its my first build on .The simple fact that Cooler Master likes to market this case showing support for the size of the fans but no clear of way it actually being implementable is irritating.

I could be wrong.

Does not look like it would fit but should have gone to either side if it did not the middle.

Im confused. What do you mean by the side? Do you mean the side panel? I got the transparent window one which cuts down the support for any fans on the side. I planned it out for a 200mm in the front, 200mm on top, a 120mm in the rear. And one at the bottom in the future. Would have provided with a good airflow.

Now the 200mm fan is just wasted money. I'm hoping someone who's installed it successfully would give me some advice. I wish I could sue CM over this. Really disappointed with them.

No looking at your picture it should fit mounting holes to either side and then the further center holes but does not look like it would.

Oh that! Yeah, I noticed that as well but like you mentioned, it looks like it will on the side but not in the middle.

Tried to contact support as well, lets see what they have to say about this. I so badly want to be proven wrong because I don't have the budget to afford any new fans either considering I bought all this yesterday but it looks like the 200mm fan is a lost cause.

So after contacting support, they guided me through the process, which the manual didn't mention so clearly and it turns out you can install a 200mm fan. Any one else who might need help with this, should refer to this FAQ they have.

Yeah. I made a mistake. The manual wasn't quite clear on that. The FAQ explained it more in detail. Thanks for helping me out though.
