I am having problems getting wifi throughout my entire house. I had planned on using a switch from my modem to 1 wireless router (linksys EA6400) at one end of the house and another wireless router (D-link ) at the other end of the house. Now that I have set this up I am only able to access the internet from the D-link router... What is going on? Why? and How can I fix this problem?
Thanks!

your internet access is regulated by the WAN port on your router to your modem. You modem hands the WAN interface an IP. Then the other interface of the route has its on DHCP scope which it can hand out to all the devices on your network.

If your linksys router is the main router connected to the modem, how do you have your dlink setup? What is connected to its WAN port?

A configuration that should work is:

Connect Modem to WAN port on Linksys
Connect Linksys to local wired network via switch ports
Connect DLink to local wired network via switch ports, leaving WAN empty.
Configure wireless on both routers to have the same exactly security and SSID.

If you don't have a wired network at all, you'll have to configure the Dlink to be a wireless extender, which may not be possible given its model. It may be able to act as an access point, but it still would need a wired connection to allow connected devices access to the network.

If you are doing- isp---modem---switch----multiple routers. It won't work the ISP will only give you a single IP address. You must have a device that takes this single ip and shares it.

It must be ISP---modem--- router---switch....maybe more routers. You would really only want to have the first router the other devices you would want to run as AP just to make things simpler.
