Hey guys,

I need some help here, half a year ago my hard drive suddenly stopped working and the ICT company that checked why it stopped working could not figure it out. Unfortunately my second hard drive (both bought at the same time around 3 years ago) just died as well, atleast thats what I think that happened because my computer cant seem to find it. My mobo is the P67A-GD65 (B3) and the hard drives are by samsung. I have tried to drain all the electricity from it by pressing the button at the back of the pc and going in the bios disabling controllers that should have caused the problem in the first place but this does not seem to work. Can someone tell me other methods on reviving my hard drive or is it pretty much dead and should I look for a new one? If so should I also buy a new mobo with it? Any recommendations?

Thanks in advance,

Kind regards
Antonio15

I would try and take the drive, and put it in a USB external enclosure. This can confirm that the drive is dead- or not.

Hi there Antonio15,

What digitaldoc propose might work for you. Have you tried swapping the SATA cables and ports? If not, it will be a good idea to do so. Trying the drive on another computer won't hurt too.
Given the fact that the drive is 3 years old, you can not be really sure whether the mobo is reason for that. My advice would be to run drive testing software from time to time to check out the drives' health.
