I was having good fps but terrible stutter with battlefield 3, on windows 7, a core2duo E8400 and 2gb of ram which is kind of normal since its such an old cpu and little ram... anyway I tried lots of tweaks including changing the bios settings, unparking cores to make the game more playeble but had no luck until now.I switched to windows 8,the fps are the same but the stuttering is completely gone.Even on the largest maps full servers i get averege 40 fps and the lowest it gets is 30 fps.

I would assume this is because of how little RAM your system has.
Windows 8 requires less Memory overhead, so I assume that the small amount of extra RAM is just enough to remove the constant Pagefile usage you saw in windows 7.
Not sure though, just a thought.
